wow, i can't believe it's been almost a month since my last drawing -__-;
anyway, two drawings for today (at least i didn't drag my scanner home for nothing!)

ponytail!ed > braid!ed (makes him look older and all that ;))
that gnarled thingie behind him? it's supposed to be a big tree. :D;

every once in a while, i have this urge to use watercolours. i don't know why, really. and then, after the drawing, i wouldn't touch watercolours for months. XD;

out of curiousity, what's the difference between watercolour and tempera? is it just the consistancy of the paint? or is there a difference in the paint base?

Ooooh, very nice. I have the same kind of relationship with watercolours. Haven't touched mine in almost a year now. XD;; Yours is much nicer than anything I've done though. ^0^

thanks! ^__^
i want to learn how to use watercolours because the effect is always so nice (when done well ;)), but they're so difficult to control. x__x

Yeah, I always have trouble keeping the colours from bleeding together. I'm too lazy/impatient to wait for them to dry. ^^; I have a how-to watercolour book, but I've never read it... :\

Ahh I love drawing Ed. He always turns out right when I do. ^_^ Now if only I can draw him (or anything else) without a reference pic. x_x I'm not sure if I should be proud of my copying/imitation skillz. XD;;

The second pic makes me tear up. That scene always makes me go ;-; *snuggles them so much* T-T

i can't imitate the FMA style very well, so i decided to go without a reference. ^^;; i've had the urge to draw ed ever since i saw him with a ponytail instead of his braid, haha.

*snuggles them too* (those boys need hugs! ;_;)

ponytail!Ed greater than shorthair!Ed!!!
He looks so mid 19th century in your picture~
I really love the pastel colours in the second pic.

I have no clue what's the different between the two paints :/, I don't know tempera that well 'cause I never used it. But I know watercolour is bad for thickly coloured pictures because sometimes it literally cracks up on the paper after it dries xD [or maybe my watercolour was just aweful?]. But it's great for light colours.

kashif doesn't agree. XD; (but we know we're right~ ;D)
i tried to draw ed the way he looked at the end of ep 51 (his clothes aren't right, but meh, little details XD;;)
thank you! :3

chu says the difference is that tempera is egg-based and watercolour is much more transparent.
